Infected Drowned are the infected version of Drowned, therefore belonging in the Infected tier.
Spawning
Spawned when a Drowned dies with Mycelium Infection.
Spawns naturally in the dark, usually in caves or during night.
Spawns in groups of 1 - 2 with a spawn weight of 10. Will not spawn in biomes with an internal temperature value at or below 0.2 or in Deep Dark biomes.
Spawned from Arena Tendrils during the first wave of a raid.
A 5% chance when a player hooks something with a Fishing Rod in open water fishing.
Evolution
When reaching 1 kill and waiting for the 5-minute evolution timer to finish, the Infected Drowned will evolve. The following are their possible Evolved forms:
Unique Behavior
Enhanced swimming: the Infected Drowned can move much quicker in water than other Infected and can even move into a swimming position.
Able to breath underwater.
Behavior
Infected Drowned are melee combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Infected Drowned inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Has a follow range of 48 blocks.
Infected Drowned can fall victim to starvation (explained on the Infected page.)
Infected Drowned have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.
Infected Drowned will attempt to group together in hordes with other Infected.
Infected Drowned will follow Evolved and Hyper Evolved mobs.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.
