Systems are a unique mechanics introduced by the mod, some are helpful to the spore, some are hurtful. Regardless, they enhance the experience and make the mod what it is.
Note: Some of the systems explained in this section are also explained on other pages (e.g. parts of Evolution are also explained on the Evolved page.)
Throughout your gameplay, you may notice chat messages pop up. These warnings are important and should be taken seriously.
Mobs being able to evolve is what progresses the mod. It allows lower tier mobs like Infected to become much stronger, like Evolved, followed by Hyper Evolved. It also allows the creation of some nasty monsters like the Proto Hivemind and Calamities.
The main weakness of the spore is cold. Even lava does essentially nothing to them. The freezing cold is the only true weakness of the spore.
Kill points are separated into two values, kill points and evolution points. When a spore mob kills another mob, they will receive one kill point and one evolution point. All mobs (excluding Organoids) have an internal counting system for both and can use them in different ways depending on the mob.
All spore mobs have unique custom death messages that are different from the base Minecraft ones.
The despawning system is meant to reduce mob count and manage lag.
