Scampers belong in the Unknown tier. It is a failed evolution of Infected, being very slow and having short vision. They are technically considered as Evolved.
Spawning
Evolution
When reaching 7 kills and waiting for the 10-minute age timer to finish, the Scamper will evolve into a Gastgeber. It also has a 30% chance to evolve into a Gastgeber if it is linked when the age timer finishes, regardless of how many evolution points it has.
Unique Behavior
As soon as the Scamper spawns in, its 10-minute age timer will begin. Once the timer finishes, the Scamper will explode and spawn one Mound with a max age of 4 and one to two more Mounds with a random max age of 1 - 3. Will also spawn a Scent and place down a Human Remains block.
Have a chance to place a Mycelium Infection II for 10 seconds area effect cloud when hitting other mobs.
Is completely ignored by the despawning system.
The Scamper has two variants, both depending on what the Scamper evolves from.
The Villager Scamper occurs when an Infected Villager, Infected Wandering Trader, Infected Witch, or Infected Pillager evolves into a Scamper. This variant is able to open doors.
The Drowned Scamper occurs when an Infected Drowned evolves into a Scamper. This variant has enhanced swimming and is able to breath underwater.
