Infested Constructs belong in the Unknown tier.
Spawning
Spawned when an iron golem dies with Mycelium Infection, which will spawn its broken version on the floor 70% of the time. Every 10 seconds, it checks for Infected, Evolved, and Experiments within a ~16 block radius and tells them to come towards the broken golem. If one of the mobs gets within ~5.4 blocks, they will enter the golem and pilot it, spawning the Infested Construct.
Spawned from Arena Tendrils as a special mob during a raid.
Unique Behavior
The Infested Construct has two health bars: normal health and machine health. Machine HP is a secondary health bar that must be taken down before true damage can be dealt. (Do note that this secondary health bar is invisible to health bar mods like ToroHealth or Neat.)
Machine HP can be healed if the Infested Construct finds and breaks any kind of iron block and adds it to its total metal value. Each block it can break has a different metal value attached to it. 1 metal equals 1 machine HP. It attempts to heal machine health every 2 seconds.
Iron Block = 27 Metal = +27 HP
Anvil = 93 Metal = +93 HP
Dispenser = 4 Metal = +4 HP
Dropper = 3 Metal = +3 HP
Hopper = 15 Metal = +15 HP
Repeater = 6 Metal = +6 HP
Comparator = 3 Metal = +3 HP
Iron Ore = 16 Metal = +16 HP
Deepslate Iron Ore = 16 Metal = +16 HP
Blast Furnace = 27 Metal = +27 HP
Iron Door = 12 Metal = +12 HP
Piston = 8 Metal = +8 HP
When finding a dispenser, the Infested Construct will place it on its shoulder and the dispenser will gain mycelium veins on its texture. Whenever locking on to targets, it will periodically fire tipped arrows that inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds. The arrows also have a 40% chance to be flaming, which will set the target on fire for 8 seconds. It does not care how close it is to its target; it will always be firing arrows.
If their target is a player and they try to build up, the Infested Construct can pick up a nearby block and throw it at the player. It can pick up blocks up to a hardness of 4 or lower.
When hitting targets, the Infested Construct will knock them very high into the air. It does this by adding 0.8 Y velocity (blocks per tick) to the target.
Infested Constructs can grant themselves regeneration whenever they get a kill.
Infested Constructs have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning they can't be knocked back by attacks.
Is immune to fall damage.
Inflicts the Weakness effect for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Essentially has Sweeping Edge, as its attack has an AOE.
Is completely ignored by the despawning system.

Trivia
The dispenser mechanic of the Infested Construct was originally meant to be its own Infested Dispenser block that would've likely fired arrows at enemies, but it was reused for the Construct.
The Infested Construct used to have increased I-frames, which was a bug. Originally it had no I-frames, and its machine health could be instantly depleted by suffocation. Its I-frames were increased, but they were made too high and it went unnoticed. It was eventually fixed.
The bottom of the head of the broken golem has two glowing red pixels on its texture, these of course being a mistake.
The iron drop from the Infested Construct completely ignores the gamerule doMobLoot.
Before the Infested Construct was released, it was kept mostly secret by devs, and a joke page was created for the wiki featuring a fake model that was just an iron golem with a Brute head.
The ID for the Infested Construct is named "spore:inf_contruct" in the code.
