Leapers are a possible evolution of Infected Villagers, belonging in the Evolved tier.
Spawning
Spawned when an Infected Villager gets an evolution point by killing a mob and its evolution timer begins. If the evolution succeeds, they have a 30% chance to become a Leaper.
Spawned from Arena Tendrils during the third wave of a raid.
Spawned from Vigils during the second and third waves of a Vigil raid.
Spawned from Verwahrungs.
Spawned from a Howitzer's large Flesh Bomb.
Unique Behavior
The Leaper is capable of leaping large distances to get to targets that are far away.
Leapers often pounce at their targets when in close range. They can utilize this to leap across small gaps to reach targets.
Can fall from up to 13 blocks before taking fall damage.
The Leaper has very high knockback, having 10x the knockback of a basic infected, with a value of 3 for knockback.
Is able to climb up blocks.
The Leaper can pick up spore mobs that are defined as ranged and support by the config. Ranged mobs include Infected Pillagers, Spitters, and Infected Evokers. Support mobs include Infected Witches and Howlers (Phayres is excluded, which is considered as support.) Braiomils are considered ranged and support, and thus can be picked up by Leapers too. It'll look for mobs to pick up within a 32 block radius when not in combat.
Leapers have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning they can't be knocked back by attacks.
Leapers have a custom death message, being "<player> got jumped by Leaper." 30% of the damage Leapers do is custom 'Leaper damage,' this solely effects the death message.
Behavior
Leapers are melee combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Leapers inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Has a follow range of 64 blocks.
Leapers have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.
When killed, have a chance to place a small short-lived Mycelium Infection area effect cloud.
Leapers will attempt to group together in hordes with other Evolved.
Infected will follow Leapers, who themselves will follow Hyper Evolved and Calamities.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Have a damage cap of 1/3 of their health on hard mode.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.
