Wiki is currently undergoing a revamp! If you see some pages that are more polished, it means they've been revamped.
Siegers are land Calamities.
Spawning
Unique Behavior
If the Sieger's target is 20 blocks away or 5 blocks higher than the Sieger, it will perform its ranged ability. 3 - 6 tumors will fire from its tail (assuming it currently has its tail) and at the target. These tumors will place down an area effect cloud that can either be Mycelium Infection, Wither, or Weakness, all for 30 seconds at amplifier II. These tumors can also destroy blocks, and have a blast strength of 2.
When the tail's hitbox sustains 25% of the Sieger's health, it will fall off. This will spawn a Sieger Tail, and the model will change to not have the tail anymore. After it falls off, the Sieger loses its ranged capabilities. It can regain its tail by healing back to 100% health. Hitting the tail of the Sieger deals x2 damage, however this does not affect the tail's personal HP.
Hitting the front of the Sieger does 25% less damage.
The Sieger has a 0.3% chance to perform its spore burst ability every tick and can only be successful if the target is within ~14.4 blocks; or a 20% chance when taking cold damage. It will summon a Scent and give Speed, Strength (both for 30 seconds at amplifier I,) and Resistance for 30 seconds at amplifier II to all allies within a 16 block radius. The spore burst will also apply debuffs to mobs within a 16 block radius. The debuffs include Mycelium Infection, Weakness, and Slowness, all for 30 seconds at amplifier II.
When performing a spore burst, all Infected, Evolved, Hyper Evolved, Scampers, and Gastgebers within a 16 block radius will receive 0 - 3 kill points.
Additionally, when doing a spore burst, all CDUs within a 16 block radius will be clogged, meaning they no longer work. They can be fixed by breaking them and placing them back down.
Siegers have three possible custom death messages, being "<player> was eaten by Sieger", "<player> was crushed by Sieger", and "<player> was dismantled by Sieger". 50% of the damage Siegers do is custom 'calamity damage 1', this solely effects the death message. If it fails, 50% chance to deal 'calamity damage 2'. If that fails, 50% chance to deal 'calamity damage 3'.
Once a Sieger reaches below 100% health, a 15 minute timer begins. Once this timer ends, the Sieger will gain its Wartorn adaptation. The timer does not reset when reaching full HP and will wait until the Sieger is hurt again to continue counting down.
This adaptation gives the Sieger 30% damage reduction, meaning it takes less damage. It also now fires 5 - 8 tumors instead of 3 - 6. Its tail no longer takes bonus damage either.
Around Christmas time, Siegers will gain a Santa hat and become the Santa Sieger. This is purely cosmetic.
Behavior
Siegers are melee combatants and ranged combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Siegers inflict Mycelium Infection II for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Essentially has Sweeping Edge, as its attack has an AOE.
Like horses, Siegers are capable of stepping up blocks, meaning they don't have to jump to go up one block.
The minimum amount of true damage a Sieger can deal to a target is 30% of its base melee damage, however the Womb Crafting System can increase that.
Can fall from up to 28 blocks before taking fall damage.
Has a follow range of 64 blocks.
Siegers are influenced by signals and objectives (explained on the Proto Hivemind page.)
Siegers can become rooted (explained on the Calamities page.)
Siegers can summon Scents (explained on the Calamities page.)
Will summon an age 1 Mound when reaching a new objective location.

When dying, Siegers will place a variety of blocks and Corpse Pieces in their death location (explained on the Calamities page.)

Siegers are immune to debuffs that are not above amplifier one.
Siegers have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.

Siegers do not attempt to group together, nor do they follow mobs. They are lone hunters.
Evolved mobs will follow Siegers.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.

Have a damage cap of 70 (x35 hearts.)
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.

Lore
The Sieger is meant to resemble the fear of large and scary monsters, as well as insects partially, as the Sieger is somewhat insectoid.
The first Calamity the Proto Hivemind ever created was a Sieger, and it acted as a test for what Calamities should be.

Trivia
The Sieger uses they/them pronouns.
Siegers were the first Calamity added to the mod.
The Sieger is the only Calamity model to not be created by Dr. Pilot, instead being created by Harbinger and Box.
The model of the Sieger (specifically the legs and tail) were given more detail after it was decided they looked too basic.
It was considered at one point for the Sieger to be able to carry upwards of 5 infected on its back, but it was either scrapped or forgotten.
In the Sieger model, there is a random cuboid simply named "e".
During the modeling of the Howitzer, Dr. Pilot got off track and began making edits to the Sieger model (this was recorded, and the video can be found here.) After he was finished, he had created a being known as John Fungal. This being is essentially the god of the spore, predating God Himself. It is a popular meme used around the Spore Discord server.
The Wartorn Sieger is a suggested adaptation, coming from the mind of @wikistomfoolery in the Spore Asylum Discord server.
