Volatiles are the evolution of Infected Witches, belonging in the Evolved tier. She is covered in tumors that are full of negative effects. She is a fast and deadly mob. She is defined as a disposable mob by the config.
Spawning
Spawned when an Infected Witch gets an evolution point by killing a mob and its evolution timer begins. If the evolution succeeds, they will become a Volatile.
Spawned from Arena Tendrils during the third wave of a raid.
Spawned from Verwahrungs.
Unique Behavior
Each time when dealing melee damage, she will apply a random debuff to the mob. She pulls from a list of effects. She can apply Poison, Weakness, Hunger, and Marker, all amplifier 1 for 30 seconds.
Every time she is damaged, she will give herself a random buff. She pulls from a list of effects. She can give herself Regeneration, Speed, Resistance, and Fire Resistance, all amplifier 1 for 30 seconds. When damaged by fire, she will always give herself Fire Resistance.
When reaching 20% health, the Volatile will attempt to explode. If successful, she will blow up with a blast strength of 3 and leave a large crater and a lingering cloud of all the negative effects she can apply at amplifier II.
Can be picked up by Phayrie.
Behavior
Volatiles are melee combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Volatiles inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.
Has a follow range of 32 blocks.
Volatiles have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.
When killed, have a chance to place a small short-lived Mycelium Infection area effect cloud.
Volatiles will attempt to group together in hordes with other Evolved.
Infected will follow Volatiles, who themselves will follow Hyper Evolved and Calamities.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Have a damage cap of 1/3 of their health on hard mode.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.

Trivia
By default, Volatiles are always looking down. This issue arose when they were remodeled.
The Volatile was remodeled to make it appear more feminine and focus more on the effects in its tumors.
Interestingly, Volatiles are the only Evolved that can't spawn from a Vigil raid. The reason was confirmed to be that Volatiles are simply too strong.
Volatile's step volume only plays at 15% for some reason. This isn't a mistake, as it's coded into the game.
