Organoids are powerful mobs, most of them acting as utility or defensive mobs. They are conglomerations of bodies, organs, flesh, and bones, constructed to serve as the Hivemind's 'organs.' These mobs come in a large array of types and jobs, but they all share one trait: they cannot move. Organoids like the Proto Hivemind serve as a node, controlling the infection to work together as one, while Umarmers exist to defend the Proto. Some Organoids have variants, like Evolved mobs. There are a total of nine mobs in this tier.
Organoid Mobs
Spawning
Mound - Spawned when a Scamper's ten-minute age timer finishes.
When a tendril from another Mound touches Human Remains (this Mound can only grow up to the age below the parent Mound.)
When a tendril from another Mound touches a chest with food inside (this Mound cannot age.)
Spawned by a Proto Hivemind (this Mound cannot age.)
Every time a Calamity reaches their destination.
Proto Hivemind - Spawned when a Reconstructed Mind is given 40 kill points.
Womb - Spawned sometimes when something kills a linked mob, causing a Proto Hivemind to spawn it.
100% of the time when a linked Mound is killed.
All other Organoids - Spawned when a Proto Hivemind detects a threat in its Organoid spawning range.
Unique Mechanics
No Movement
Despawning
If there are four Organoids in a roughly 12x12x12 area of a given Organoid, it will attempt to burrow into the ground and despawn to prevent overcrowding. This ignores Mounds and Proto Hiveminds.
Regeneration
All Organoids have a type of passive regeneration. This is disabled while they are under the effects of the cold.
Breathing Underwater
All Organoids are capable of breathing underwater. The only other mobs that can do this are Infected Drowned, its Evolved forms, and water Calamities.
Shared Aspects & Capabilities
Organoids will attack mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs (excluding Mounds and Wombs.)
Can be a maximum of 40 Organoids in a world at any given time, managed by the despawning system (excluding Proto Hiveminds.)
Trivia
An organoid in real life is defined as "an artificially grown mass of cells or tissue that resembles an organ."
Organoids don't have a weakness to the cold due to all the heat they generate.
