Brutes are a possible evolution of Infected Pillagers, belonging in the Evolved tier. They are slow, yet strong and tanky mobs.
Spawning
Spawned when an Infected Pillager gets an evolution point by killing a mob and its evolution timer begins. If the evolution succeeds, they have a 30% chance to become a Brute.
Spawned from Arena Tendrils during the second and third waves of a raid.
Spawned from a Howitzer's large Flesh Bomb.
Hyper Evolution
When reaching 7 kills and waiting for the 5-minute evolution timer to finish, the Brute will evolve into an Ogre.
Unique Behavior
The Brute is able to pick up blocks and throw them at targets. It can pick up blocks with a hardness of up to 4. The damage the block does is 10 multiplied by the hardness of the block its throwing. The Brute will only throw the block if the target is more than 14 blocks away, in which it will take 4 seconds to throw. It will try to always have a block on its back.
The Brute can pick up spore mobs that are defined as ranged by the config, including Infected Pillagers, Braiomils, Spitters, and Infected Evokers. It'll look for mobs to pick up within a 32 block radius when not in combat.
Brutes have 1.0 knockback resistance, meaning they can't be knocked back by attacks.
Behavior
Brutes are melee combatants and ranged combatants, attacking mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Brutes inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage.

Brutes have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.

Brutes will attempt to group together in hordes with other Evolved.
Infected will follow Brutes, who themselves will follow Hyper Evolved and Calamities.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Have a damage cap of 1/3 of their health on hard mode.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.

Trivia
The Brute's model is based on gorillas.
Its model was changed because it was too 'animalistic,' which didn't fit with the rest of the mobs.
Brutes are short ass evolved that love to break it down sexual style when stuck.
