Evolved are larger and stronger forms of Infected. When an Infected mob gets an evolution point, a five-minute evolution timer begins. Once it ends, they will either turn into one of their available Evolved forms, or evolution fails, and they turn into a Scamper. They differ in appearance a lot, but typically they will have light brown fungal armor with mushrooms growing around their body. Each Evolved has its own unique appearance and abilities. There are a total of twenty mobs in this tier.
Evolved Mobs
Spawning
Spawned when an Infected mob gets an evolution point by killing a mob and its evolution timer begins. Once it ends, they will turn into one of their available Evolved forms. The transformations go as follows:
Infected Human - Knight, Griefer, Braiomil, and Phayres
Infected Husk - Verdathorn, Jagdhund and Scavenger
Infected Villager/Wandering Trader - Leaper, Slasher, and Spitter
Infected Pillager - Howler, Stalker, and Brute
Spawned from Arena Tendrils during the second and third waves of a raid.
Spawned from Vigils during the second and third waves of a Vigil raid.
Spawned from Verwahrungs.
Spawned from a Howitzer's large Flesh Bomb.
(Knight exclusive:) Spawned from a Howler's summoning ability.
Hyper Evolution
All Evolved have the ability to further evolve. If they can't currently, they have planned Hyper Evolved forms for the future or have a variant. The following mobs turn into the following Hyper Evolved:
Shared Aspects & Capabilities
Evolved will attack mobs with Infected forms, golems, and most hostile mobs.
Evolved mobs inflict Mycelium Infection for 30 seconds when dealing melee damage (excluding the Slasher and Infected Vindicator. )
All mobs have a 5% chance to drop a Scent upon death.
Evolved will attempt to group together in hordes.
Infected will follow Evolved mobs, who themselves will follow Hyper Evolved and Calamities.
Can perform low leaps/dashes to chase prey quickly through water.
Able to use kill points to give themselves buffs, such as strength or speed if the target is running away. They can also give themselves regeneration if they are low on health.
Capable of breaking glass and leaves.
Can be a maximum of 35 Evolved in a world at any given time, managed by the despawning system.
Have a damage cap of 1/3 of the mob's health they're attacking on hard mode.
Present a weakness to the cold, like all spore mobs.
